However, he did not elaborate how the parties will achieve the breakthrough within a week. Speaking to journalists at the Maoist Parliamentary Party (PP) Office in Singhadurbar, Dahal claimed serious discussions on outstanding issues were underway and expressed confidence that the political parties would discover common ground soon.
“The UCPN (Maoist), as the largest party in the Constituent Assembly (CA), is doing its best for the implementation of the five-point pact forged among the three major parties,” he said. “However, we have been discouraged by the disinterest shown by Nepali Congress (NC).”
He added that the implementation of the five-point deal would take pace within a few days.
Dahal underscored that NC's decision to initiate a stir right after the five-point deal sent out the wrong message to the public. He said that Legislature-Parliament was also monitoring the five-point agreement and reiterated that there was no alternative to its implementation. “However, NC is not cooperating to implement the five-point deal,” he said.
